Food & Beverage Sanitation

Category Overview

Food and beverage sanitation chemistry covers the cleaners, sanitizers, and processing aids used to keep production lines, tanks, and packaging equipment in a validated, food-safe condition. These products are formulated to remove protein, fat, mineral, and biofilm soils quickly while remaining compatible with stainless steel, gaskets, and other food-contact materials.

Most plants run these chemistries through clean-in-place (CIP) and clean-out-of-place (COP) systems on a fixed sanitation schedule. Concentration, temperature, contact time, and mechanical action all have to work together, so product selection is driven by the soil profile, water hardness, and the equipment being cleaned.

ChemWest supplies food-grade and FDA-compliant sanitation chemistries with the documentation plants need for audits, including Safety Data Sheets and specification sheets on request.

Typical Applications

  • Clean-in-place (CIP) circuits for tanks, lines, and fillers

Caustics & Alkalis

Sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, and alkaline cleaners for processing, CIP, and industrial cleaning applications.

Caustics & Alkalis

Category Overview

Caustics and alkalis are the workhorse chemistries of industrial cleaning and pH control. They saponify fats and oils, dissolve protein soils, neutralize acidic waste streams, and serve as reagents in dozens of manufacturing processes.

Because these products are highly corrosive and generate heat on dilution, handling, storage, and dilution equipment matter as much as the chemistry itself. We help customers match concentration and packaging to their existing tank, pump, and dosing infrastructure.

Available in bulk tanker, tote, drum, and pail quantities with consistent assay and full documentation.

Acids

Category Overview

Industrial acids dissolve inorganic scale, passivate stainless steel, adjust pH in process and waste streams, and act as reagents across manufacturing. Selecting the right acid depends on the deposit being removed and the metallurgy of the equipment.

Mineral acids such as nitric, sulfuric, and hydrochloric deliver aggressive descaling power, while organic acids like citric and glycolic offer safer handling and better material compatibility for sensitive systems.

We supply technical, food-grade, and reagent-grade acids with the concentration and packaging that fit your dosing systems and containment.

Water Treatment

Category Overview

Water treatment chemistry keeps industrial and municipal systems clean, compliant, and efficient. Programs typically combine coagulants and flocculants for solids removal, scale and corrosion inhibitors for asset protection, and biocides for microbiological control.

The right program depends on source water chemistry, system metallurgy, cycles of concentration, and discharge permit limits. Small changes in dosing can have a large effect on both performance and operating cost.

Solvents & Degreasers

Industrial-grade solvents and degreasers for equipment cleaning, maintenance, and surface preparation.
View details

Solvents & Degreasers

Category Overview

Solvents and degreasers remove oils, greases, waxes, inks, and resins that water-based cleaners can’t touch. They’re used in parts washing, maintenance, surface prep before coating, and as carriers or diluents in manufacturing.

Selection balances solvency strength against flash point, evaporation rate, odor, VOC content, and worker exposure limits. Many operations are moving from traditional chlorinated solvents to lower-VOC and bio-based alternatives without giving up performance.

We stock both conventional and greener solvent options and can help evaluate substitutions against your existing process and compliance requirements.

Corrosion Inhibitors

Protective chemistries that help prevent corrosion and extend the life of pipelines, tanks, boilers, and process equipment.
View details

Corrosion Inhibitors

Category Overview

Corrosion inhibitors form protective films on metal surfaces or neutralize the conditions that drive corrosion. In closed loops, boilers, pipelines, and cooling systems, a well-managed inhibitor program is far cheaper than the equipment it protects.

Programs are built around the metallurgy present, the water or process fluid chemistry, temperature, and oxygen exposure. Filming amines, phosphonates, molybdates, and azoles each target different mechanisms and metals.

ChemWest supplies inhibitor chemistries for water systems, oil and gas production, and manufacturing, with support on program design and residual monitoring.

Specialty Chemicals

Custom formulations and application-specific chemicals designed to meet unique operational and performance requirements.

Specialty Chemicals

Category Overview

Specialty chemicals cover the products that don’t fit a standard category: custom blends, performance additives, and application-specific formulations developed for a particular process, substrate, or compliance requirement.

These are typically built around a defined performance target — a foam profile, a viscosity, a dry time, a regulatory listing — rather than a commodity specification. That means sourcing and formulation work up front, and consistent supply once the product is qualified.

Our team works with customers to identify, source, or blend the chemistry that fits their operation, including private-label and custom-packaged programs.
